Through Partnership Projects, individuals and organizations from the Dominican Republic, Haiti and the diasporas collaborate on long-term projects aimed to create a sustainable local impact. These projects center the leadership of Semillero/Changemakers alumni and high school and college students from the diaspora in the United States. Previous partners have included Border of Lights, Reconocido, Yspaniola in Batey Libertad, and DREAM Project in Cabarete. Our projects have included the creation of an oral history documentary, the establishment of 4 murals with Azueï, and the fundraising of over $1,000 for local healthcare expenses and toward the construction of a community basketball court.

Summer 2024 Community murals project with Azueï

In the summer of 2024, we worked with Azueï muralist Rous Polifaceta and 3 community partners in Cabarete, Batey Libertad, and Sabana Larga, to complete 4 locally-designed community murals across the north and south of the Dominican Republic.

Oral Histories and Documentary (In/Visible Hope: Haitian Voices in the Dominican Republic)

In 2024, Kiskeya Youth recorded 6 oral histories in the northern region of the Dominican Republic. After documentarian and program facilitator Diana Rodriguez compiled and edited several of these oral histories into a short documentary, the team presented the film at the 2025 Association for the Study of the Worldwide African Diaspora conference.
